FlashCoupons is a smartphone-based application that provides a platform for businesses to generate their own promotions on-the-spot and push them directly to consumers’ phones. Businesses have full control over the content of their FlashCoupons, allowing them to respond to real-time needs, whether it’s filling tables at dinner or selling excess inventory during the last few business hours. A FlashCoupon can last from 1-24 hours and be limited to a certain quantity, giving businesses better control over when redemptions occur and avoid giving discounts on premium items or during peak times. Based on their current geographic location, they will receive FlashCoupons that meet their individually-tailored preferences. Consumers can also specify the range within which to receive coupons, whether it is a 5 mile radius during a lunch break or a larger 50 mile radius during a long distance drive. When the consumer receives an offer that piques their interest, the built-in map provides detailed driving directions to the business location.
